Ward 4 Open Seat

This flyer was left at the houses of several Ward 4 residents. I agree with all but the last sentence. It is imperative that citizens of Ward 4 attend Monday's meeting to have their say in who will represent us for the next 8 months.

Why this is important?

Because the vetting process is important.

Normally, one obtains a council seat by running for election. During that process the voters have the opportunity to ask the candidates about current issues, pet projects or long-time problems. We are unable to do that via the current appointment system.

And that is why this meeting is so important. Our remaining elected officials must do this on our behalf. Because the council is doing this vetting process on our behalf, it is important to attend and state your own expectations of the Ward 4 open seat.

By "houses of several Ward 4 residents", I assume you mean houses in Midland Valley.

Just finished watching the meeting aside from what has been already said I noticed a few things, that I didn't pick up on OS video.

Jones has got a big mouth and just loves to hear himself talk. If the councilman wasn't taught it is impolite to speaking when someone else is talking could he possibly cover his mike so the audience don't have to listen to his dribble.

Owensby isn't much better. At a point in the meeting, towards the end, Owensby leaned over and talked with Jones. This was shortly after someone brought up the City Administrator. Owensby said to Jone something about bringing Munsch in here.

That atleas how I heard it. If anyone taped it how bout checking that out.

Owensby and Munsch what a team, just what this City doesn't need.

I've also heard that Dills is going to get the slot on the Council. It looks like he paid the back taxes on the County Property on 9-9-07.

Why can't those good ole boys let go of this, they've already got theirs.

The future inspectors is supposed to be a good friend of Skidmark. Wonder of Maury is on his way back? No doubt he was a POS.

If Les Dills were not approved by the Council, who would be an acceptable alternative?

I always thought Denny Golden did a good job, but I doubt he'd be interested in returning to the Council.

Questions:

1. Was there a name on the flyer, I didn't see one?

2. If not why not?

3. Did the city send any kind of letter out to all the residents of ward 4 regarding this, so everyone knows what's going on?

4. If not why not?

5. Has anyone heard of anyone else that might come forward that would like to fill the seat?

So Les Dills distributed a flyer saying support Les Dills?
If appointed to the council will he refer to himself in the third person?

Let's just hope he doesn't give himself a parade.

Suzanne Jackson is a long time Ward Four Warrior. Can I get a second on the motion?

I second the motion.

I'll third that. Thanks is not enough for everything she has done. And all the information she has provided.

"Gravy caused a lot of turmoil around here in our family."

What a hoot!

"Nobody knows the turmoil I've seen."

You can always end the turmoil I create with my words by not reading my words.

The Journal, ever so on top of things, posted something about Monday's Workshop Meeting on their website. (No word on why this couldn't be done by Tuesday night's print edition--you know, when the public could truly been informed.)

You can comment here and/or the Journal's site.

My only comment is if MVE is sending out stuff to encourage folks to go and you get a crowd of "the regulars" will the council chambers have suffient room for the crowd?

Make that "sufficient" room for the crowd.
