? of the Week: Should Les Dills remain on the ballot?

Lone Ward 4 candidate Les Dills just cant seem to get it right. A quick check on the St Louis County Revenue's real estate database shows that Les is--once again--deliquent in his taxes on his property at 2910 Bellecote Ave.

Will the City Clerk do her due dilligence and find this discrepancy?

Will Les Dills remain on the ballot?

Schneider's expertise in the "tax" department will help bail out Dills. You can bet your bottom tax dollar on that one.

My goodness, am I the only person who pays their property taxes. Classic COGG member, all too happy to spread public resources to their political hacks...see Chuck Boone....but not willing to pay for it.

Just imagine how much service value Dills sucks from the various taxing authorities in the County.

Hey Pig,
Yeah you,
Hey piggy pig pig pig,
Pay your taxes too.

I bet he is a huge fan of the Edgar Winter Group.

Here is what I don't get:
It's $100 and change. Is that worth losing your $500/month stipend as council member?

Tax-Less-Dills might have received a consultation from Schneider the "don't pay your taxes" man.
Maybe they are part of that protest movement going on, not to pay taxes. Tea party anyone? Tea tossing into the Mississippi at high noon tomorrow.

Owensby might as well just toss in the rug now. COGG and company are going to oust the guy.

The Mississippi? I think they are meeting at the lake at Wild Acres!

How many rich people violate laws and are never punished? It would be nice if our local elected officials didn't consider themselves to be "above the law".

Clearly Mr. Dills feels he is above our laws. People who are greedy like Mr. Dills, do this because they can. They always get away with it.

How can we trust this councilman in a elected position to make decisions with our tax money when he deliberately ignors the laws when it comes to his own tax liabilities?

What's a hundred dollars to a guy that is in the wheeler dealer business of buying properties and selling them anyhow?

Evidently, the Schneiders as well as the Dills feel that they don't have to follow the law. No wonder they recruited eachother.

Taxpayers pay Mr. Dills salary. Regardless of where this property is located in St. Louis County he is shirking his responsibilities and obligations and is delinquent.

Mr. Dills needs to prove that his dealings are above board. He should cough up the money and pay what he owes.

Mr. Dills you are now a law maker. Laws must apply to everyone. You own the property, you owe the taxes, quit welching and pay your taxes.

Finewine,
I am not sure what one can do. If he had a challenger he/she could file a lawsuit, I guess.
I do think it is funny that the election board would assume anything.

Why would musicnote think he doesn't owe? The property is in his name, isn't it?

Did I miss some "tax opt-out" box on my appraisal form?

FineWino with another history lesson. That was then...this is now.....Who gives a rat's arse what the council did or didn't do in Executive Session to for, whoever, or whatever political relic your shilling for today.

What do these 4 have in common?

Finewine,
I get what you are saying. These folks will run amok if we dont keep them in check. I hope that through these blogs and message boards we are keeping them a bit more honest. At least letting the sunshine on their bullcrap.

I see the agenda is NOT posted for tonight's meeting. I wish someone on the council would make a motion, they would pass a resolution or something that would require them to post all this crap online.
With parking at a premium and gas nearly $3/gallon, do they really want us all to cruise by city hall to get this information?
