CA Search Update

Again, TPTB in Overland seem to have Buck Collier on speed dial, but not the various city council members. The Journal has an updated CA search story stating over 30 people have applied for the City Administrator position.

No word on whether Doug Saye was one of the applicants as rumored here.

City Maninistrator's are absolutely effective when dealing with a reasonable group of elected leaders.

Schneider has clearing demonstrated a penchant for patronage over merit in every personnel or staffing decision he has made.

Having said that, I have no expectation that Schneider, et. al. will do anything different with the City Maninistrator than they have done with every other appointee and/or employee.

I found the %50,000.00 appropriation for subsidizing low income trash service to be equally disturbing. Of course Buck Collier couldn't muster up any of his latent reporting skills in the story. No mention on exactly how the City would administer such idea.

But the policy gets directly back to Schneider's penchant for spoils. This policy is a blatent attempt to save Kenny Blowensme 's electoral ass by attempting to buy former Purzner supporters.

Schnieder loves to hand out the pork and there are enough hogs to keep chomping on his hand-outs for years to come.

In sum, no City Manager has the force of personality or political acumen to bring some sense of professional administration to City Government.

Whoever the CA turns out to be, I'll bet donuts that the person has a long term direct relationship with Schneider.

"The committee began reviewing the plan late last year. Giroux has said because the initial work on the plan was so thorough, few changes were needed. Mostly, he said, it's been a matter of updating information about the city's demographics."

Great! Giroux likes his work so much there really isn't any need for changes. Just update the demographics and Giroux will rebound from twenty years as planning ineffectual. I mean this dude has been on planning committee for years during Overland's decline. Schneider keeps him on and puts him in charge of new planning effort without regard to the fact that this is the guy who has been failing in this capacity for years.

Nice job Empty.

Actually Owensby was completely against the trash bill. He was in an "all or nothing" type position--either free trash for all or free trash for none.
