Why does Tom Fitzgerald hate Kathy Kelly Burkett?

Why does Tom Fitzgerald hate Kathy Burkett, the Overland resident/representative on the St Louis County Council? During citizens comments at the Monday meeting he ranted and raved about how the County dis's Overland.

Owensby Almost Gives Himself an Anuerysm

Owensby almost stroked out last night during the city council meeting. After the swearing in and seating of the new council (which looked suspiciously like the "old" council), a motion was made for Councilperson Cuminale to be made Mayor Pro-Tem.
Now, let's step back a few paces. Dills and Jones were both absent from the meeting. This meant that it was pretty likely that Eedie would be elected.
First, Owensby tried to put it off until a full council was elected. However, city ordinance does state that it should happen at the first meeting after election results are certified (SECTION 110.240 of Overland City Ordinances).
Then, after the vote Owensby tried to proclaim 5 votes were needed. Well, since we all pretty much know the rules from the turmoil during the Purzner era--everyone knew that the 5 votes applied to ordinances. Appointing/electing a Mayor Pro-Tem is done by resolution, which by RROR, only requires the vote of the majority of those present.

Overland House Tour

At last night's meeting, Schneider was lamenting the poor attendance of citizens at community events. It could be that they are not very well publicized. For example, I knew nothing of this house tour until last night.

That aside, here is an article from the Journal covering the event that will be held this Sunday.

The Ethically Challenged Group Knows as COGG

Well, it was over a week late but COGG did finally file their report for the first quarter of 2008. Nothing too suprising. Well, aside from a "good government" group that does not seem to have the ability to follow Election/Ethics Law.

Here is a copy of the report.

Shouldn't following ethics rules and laws be part of "good government"?

This is the question.
Part of the anwer is that Citizens of Overland for "Good Government" still has not filed their 1st quarter reports.

COGG Delinquent on Ethics Report

Last I checked (five mintues ago), COGG was deliquent in filing their first quarter report that was due yesterday. My oh my....

Monday's Council Meeting

I would have written earlier about this, but someone just came by the council chambers and woke me up! That's to say it was a bit boring--not that there is anything wrong with that.
The only big item on the agenda was buying property, which was tabled. That left the only big item as some dude complaining that the city wanted to make repairs to his street (Olden).

Les Dills’s major conflict of interest

The dilapidated buildings at Woodson and Midland have been an eyesore for too long. After much delays and much debate by the full council, a hearing was finally held on Monday in hopes to condemn and destroy these buildings. Imagine the big surprise when Les Dills came forward at this meeting and told he had a financial stake in this property. Is this some sort of conflict of interest for a councilman to have joined in debate and votes on condemnation proceedings on property that he has an interest?

Donna Dill is a Freaking Liar!

As usual, Donna Dill has nosed her way to Overland. And again spreading lies and rumors. I was only at two polls in Overland yesterday. One man asked me if I lived in Ward 4 and when I replied Yes he asked me to vote for Les. My reply was "I'm not interested".

This two second interchange was hardly telling someone off. Having worked the polls as an electioneer for many years, mine was not an atypical response.

Now, if Les's son gets his feelings hurt because not everyone is going to vote for his daddy that is his problem. But there was nothing rude in the interchange and--as usual--you don't have your story straight.

Now go back to Maryland Heights before I put my foot (that you are so obsessed) up your fat ass!

Nancy Allison: Illegal Campaigning!

Nancy has a campaign comittee. Such campaign committee has received outside donations. Yet, her Localite Ads say "Paid for by Nancy Allison". Her letter that I received Thursday said "Paid for by Nancy Allison".

Is Nancy trying to fool the citizens of Overland into thinking she ins't getting her Old Guard Dues and CronyDonies (Donations to Support Cronyism)?

Dills: Another Tax Pickle

Seems Les Dills has gotten himself into a tax pickle--or at least a campaign finance related tax pickle. You see, Ol' "I'm not gonna run in 2008" Dills took a campaign finance contribution from Midland Auto and Tire. Not an Overland business, so curious to who was behind this company.

Meet one Timothy Brown. According to the Missouri Business Name database, Midland Auto and Tire is a ficticious name associated with Spanish Lake Auto and Tire. Spanish Lake Auto is a corporation fully owned by Timothy Brown and his wife (both residents of St Peters). In addition to these automotive concerns, Timothy also owns Brown Properties Inc which is located at 1804 Morven right here in Overland.

A cursory review of the tax database shows that Brown Properties has not paid either Real Estate nor Personal Property taxes for the past three years!

Why does Les Dills get support from those who cannot support our local infrastructure?
What is it about these guys and taxes?

I realize people and businesses can fall on hard times. But, those same people don't contribute to political campaigns. Hey Les. Return the money and suggest your friend apply it to their tax bill.

Owensby the Pseudo-Teacher

Hmmm...still not buying it, regardless of what he cooked up on computer to show Fine Wine.

I need a little more proof than the word of someone who has been questionable in the past.

So, tell us...

What school district?

What subject?

What grade/class level?

A Little FRIG'in Late!

I almost drove off the road the other day when I saw that Tim Frigillana had some signs in the right-of-way along Flora. Since then, I've seen them in a handful of yards--primarily in the area of Ward 3 that used to be in Ward 4.

Still waiting to see if anyone says he actually knocked on their door, made a leaflet drop or did any actual "campaigning". Anyone? Anyone? Anyone?

Who is paying who turns into Who owes who?

Finally received some campaign finance reports for the election on Tuesday.

They can be found here.
