"News" to me

I attend every city council meeting. However, Buck Collier--who doesn't even attend the meetings--has a story about downtown development in Overland in The Journal. I don't seem to recall this being mentioned at any city council meeting, workshop, etc.

The article states that "In Overland, there's been much talk..." and of groups that "wants to help revitalize" the downtown area. As usual, we have lots of talk but no plan of action and no initiative.

The article outlines a downtown plaza. I seem to recall Conlon talking about such a thing in both mayoral races, including a gazebo in the vacant lot near Midland/Woodson. I think Schneider pooh-pooh'd such an idea, possibly asking if it would be paid for by "grant fairies".

Could Conlon's dream finally be coming to fruition? If so, will Schneider give credit where credit is due? My bet is that even if the first one question's answer if ever a yes, we would never have that for the second one.

Of course not why would he do that. It's all about Mike. I was disgusted with him watching the meeting last night. Wrapping himself around the tragedy of Kirkwood. He is narsisitic. Oh and Conlon it's because of her we are getting a City Administrator she put her neck out and Dody and Herman tried to cut int off about the City Administrator. It's amazing how many things being said are the things she had been arguign for many years.

The office of Mayor Schneider issued a press release regarding this important issue.

City Administrator?

What City Administrator?

Love the press release but would have liked for MTSuit to include one of those letters he wrote to somebody or company soliciting retail development.

Heard that there is major trouble in Schneider's pretend paradise. Several discussions have recently took place about Owensby's candidacy amongst many die hard Schneider supporters and COGG members.

Seems like these guys are quite manipulative. Guess they have learned from their master, Frank Munsch.

I'm sure as more comes to light we will continue to find out that these guys are just as most suspected here, very deceptive.

Many believe that the guy running in Ward 3 was put up and is a complete smoke screen, done intentionally to keep Kenny in office. I have to agree completely.

Jones put this guy up but nobody is working it. NOBODY. Why? Well, the deceptive bunch owes big time.

They admit and have fully acknowledged that the candidate of Ward 3 running against Ken isn't viable at all. They actually laughed about it.

Hell, this guy didn't even put an ad in the localite which was also purely intentional.

Mike Schneider made a deal with Munsch when he was running for Mayor and Munsch made a deal with the ORT folks to secure it for Mike. And what a deal it was. Remember, this is always about Mike first.

It's really easy to illustrate how the Schneider/Dody/Munsch bunch use people. Look at what a slap in the face to Mike Oakes this Ward 3 race is.

Mike would have run really hard but Schneider and the boys didn't embrace that idea. In fact, I'm told they were adamently against Oakes running and for that matter Joe Poelker running, too.

Why? Well cause of that little deal Munsch made with Kenny. Frank touts that he can keep Kenny in line and that Kenny is so stupid he'll do anything I ask him to do. You just got to know how to ask for it, sugar coat it and put some green behind it.

I really don't know now who is worse: the ORT or the Munsch/Dody/Schneider/COGG Bunch.

I was told that Dills and Jones have made a strong alliance with Owensby and Keller. If you've been watching the meetings on TV since Mike took over, it's pretty evident where those light in the loafers sit and vote on the board.

Is anyone really surprised at all?

I am a bit surprised they can actually count votes. This deal as been cooking for months. I don't think it a stretch to see Keller's mayoral candidacy as a way to suppress Conlon's support. The GORT Alliance transcends personal animosity and is an obvious reaction to those forces in our community seeking to replace our antiquated spoils/patronage based administration with a modern professional merit based civil service.

They prefer power relative to professionalism, efficiency, accountability and the long-term success of our community.

When thinking of the GORT alliance I find myself increasingly drawn to Plato's Allegory of the Cave for understanding.
