Not much happened at the meeting last night. All the bills/proposed ordinance passed unanimously and without much debate. Not much brought up on new/old business. Yawner (a good thing) and was home in time for Old Christine.

ANybody know why there won't be any debates this cycle. I heard that Lions aren't doing it this year. I was hoping to hear Ken, Rich KNode, Les, and Nancy Allison speak.
The Lions just hosted it. It was put on by the League of Women Voters. They did not have one 3 years age the first time I ran. They had one 2 years age but Mr. Owensby elected not to attend. No reason for him to go, almost no one from Ward 3 attends. they had one last year, just because the political climate was so hot! It does seem they don't have them for council races. Why have one anyway,
Mr. Owensby is basically running unopposed, no signs for his opponent in Ward 3 that I have seen. Mr Dill is the same, he votes for himself and he wins. Knode does not stand a chance. Whats the point?
I wish Mike Oakes would have run. Heard the Mayor didn't want that. I don't understand why the good government people no longer care about the person that is the biggest detriment to advancing our city. Oh I forgot they all owe Frank Munsch
What a disgrace
Overall, hard to believe the state of apathy in Overland politics. I think if Oakes would have run he would have serious chances--one would be name recognition, but two he would be able to actually get some of Owenby's base who is not being served when he is a "yes man" for MTS.
The whole Ward 3 thing has me puzzled. Jones hounds this guy to run. Owensby ends up looking like a big sucker when he is blind-sided by the mess thinking he had been assured his seat was safe. I am sure he had one of his famous confabs with MTS. So, knowing Owensby would be tough to beat by this no-name guy AND that they need his vote on all their schemes, the COGGster faction turns around and encourages Frigillana not to campaign.
I just hope they reimbursed the guy for his filing fee.
It's bs and riducoulous. Oakes only lost very small number of votes. I know Mike could have won and would have at least worked hard. Tim Jones ought to stay out of ward 3 politics. How about a write in campaign or is it too late?
